River Song's Sonic Screwdriver

This was one of my favorite projects that I created so far. I love watching Doctor Who when I have free time so I wanted to try to create the sonic screwdriver from the show, the only problem was which version I was going to model. The Doctor gets different Sonic's over the course of the show so I had a large variety of designs to pick from. I decided to go with River Song's sonic screwdriver that she gets in the show. It has a unique yet simplistic design that I could create in Zbrush with my experience. This was the first mechanical study that I have done so I had to take a different approach to show I would start creating a base model. Started with a few different base shapes to start from but it was really hard to mold and add to the model so I kept getting into a cycle of restarting. After a few tries, I found out Zbrush had a tool called Zmodeler where you could create your own models rather than using a basic shape as a starting point. I created a base shape of the screwdriver and then started adding some of the smaller mechanical pieces that were extruding from the screwdriver using booleans. This was my first experience using these tools in Zbrush and I want to use these tools more, they made the process of creating this model go way smoother.
